Wiz, Oh, Maryland, my Maryland. Nebraska played two decent teams all year long and lost to one of them. Illinois won the Big Ten and had a loss to a Top Twenty team. Oregon lost one game in a tough conference, (despite Washington's total humiliation at the hands of Miami. They also played Wisconsin, which was supposed to be a top team when they played. Now, many can laugh at Oregon State getting so close to the Ducks, but many of us still remember that Sports Illiterates picked them number one and put them on the cover.
So, if Tennessee should stumble, you have 3 teams with one loss in good conferences and champions of that conference. I think that ranks ahead of a non-champion who was stomped in a must-win game, despite just one loss in a very tough conference.
Oh, well, Miami is going to moiderate anyone they send. Remember, they slaughter good opponents every other game. <G> |
