Re: 64 GDPW at AMD and 33.3 GDPW at Intel

Intel runs about 60K wspw, or 780k per quarter. They're averaging about 1/3 217mm2 P4s and a mix of 90mm2 PIII/Celeron and 78?mm2 .13 mobile PIII/Celeron.

Calculated average (mean) die size 125mm2.

So they have room for about 250 per wafer (on average) if edge loss is 10% they get 225.

225 x 780,000 = 175,500,000 die at 100% yield.

Intel was only able to ship about 26,000 parts and has been unable to fulfill orders previously accepted, so they must be running fully loaded. Using the Paul&Elmer system, we can calculate that Intel's yields are running at 14.8% or 33.3 good die per wafer.
