Well, the score is now Peter 1, Jim 0; so I won't push my luck.

Yes, I've noted the Euro contortions to get the spendthrift players back in the game. I recall NRs about German efforts to help DT, others about infrastructure sharing, and lower spectrum prices in France, but I'd lost track, really.

Evidently the thinking is that there's too much at risk to let these ventures fail. Your comment seems to confirm that view.

The outlook was quite pessimistic last fall, with projections of losses until around 2007. Thanks for your insight; I'll have to do some catching up.
