HK's Hang Seng ends up 2.44 pct, highest close since August
HONG KONG, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Vigorous bidding and better-than-expected prices at a government land auction helped Hong Kong stocks jump over two percent on Tuesday to their highest close since late August.

Hopes for another interest rate cut next week and global economic recovery next year also encouraged buying of blue chip shares, analysts said.

The Hang Seng Index <.HSI> ended up 2.44 percent or 272.13 points at 11,427.28.

Property developers were among the top gainers. The Hang Seng properties sub-index <.HSNP> rose 3.78 percent at 14,983.31.
