Mercy Air Subsidiary to Acquire Business Assets From an Existing Las Vegas

Operator

DENVER, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corporation (Nasdaq: AIRM) today announced that its subsidiary, Mercy Air Service, Inc. (Mercy Air), has entered into an agreement to acquire certain business assets from another air medical service provider with operations in Las Vegas.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the month and is subject to both parties meeting certain closing conditions. Included in the business assets will be one medically configured BK-117 twin-engine aircraft which will be used to expand Mercy Air's operating bases in the Las Vegas region from two to three. The completion of the acquisition is expected to significantly increase annual flight volume at existing bases while facilitating expansion in the region to include a third base of operations.

David Dolstein, President of Mercy Air, stated, "We are looking forward to the benefits that this transaction will create for our company as well as the Las Vegas community. The consolidation of these operations will provide an integrated single point of service for the community while improving the system's efficiency. We believe this will create an environment that will ensure the long-term viability of these important services for the greater Las Vegas region for many years to come."
