albert re: monopoly does not have to have 80% as intel, it has to have control of the market. that would be true if all the other competitors had, say, less than 5% of the market. Microsoft controls 95% of the home OS market, and each of their competitors account for less than 1%. they don't even have a single competitor at 5%. however, Intel's single largest competitor has over 20%. their other competitors make up another 2-3%, leaving Intel with about 76-77%. you'd have a tough time calling them a monopoly in court.
