How I wish I could stay and chat with you elitist and like-minded people. Unfortunately, I am about to jet out (first-class, of course)to the SI picnic where I will hobnob with others of my station. I hope there will be barriers between us and the commoners-it would be so stressful to actually have to talk to someone without a PhD.
Do you think there will be room for my maid and chauffeur at Bob's? And I hope the limo can park safely. My life is SO FULL of these terrible threats to my comfort. Why, I slept hardly at all. But please- don't pity me- I'll make do somehow.

And really-I'm troubled by the recurring use of the word paternalistic. It's so macho. Maternalistic is more accurate. Don't even consider coining a more politcally correct term (parentalistic?)
