Tony,
Re: German Bashing!!
I have manufactuerd printed circuit boards for German clents for years and before me my father manufactuered transformers in 1930's almost all destined for exportation to Germany.
Our clients today are major German industries and I dare say that I know them well!
There are no question about their work ethics. Ethnic Germans are serious and hard working, and highly diciplined, the best workers in Europe. They pay their suppliers like a clock and they don't haggle!! But would I manufactuer in Germany? I wouldn't dream of it. The Bundes Republic just inherited tens of millions of "Zumobies" from the ex-DDR. These Walking Dead are incorporated into the German work force, expensive, corrupted by over 50 years Socialism, and not as deciplined as the rest of Germany. The United Germany is facing a tough problem of rebuilding the East and it will continue unitl all the DDR workforce are dead or retired and a new generation steps in. Then you have to add the problem of guest workers Turks, Romanians, Serbs, African, and Asians etc, etc. that form a good part of German work force, but lack the work ethics of ethnic Germans!! Today, German industries contract Italian firms to manufactuer which in their turn look East for cheaper labour and more favorable tax climates.
The place today to manufactuer in Europe is Republic of Slovenia, sitting on the borders of Italy and Austria, completley differnet from the rest Balkan coutnries(thanks God, no Turkish domination1), with long Austro-Hungerian and Mittle-European cultuer, and very cheap work force.
