people trivializing this issue
Abortion is very stressful for a pregnant woman and generally quite expensive. I dispute that women in general either enjoy or aspire to have abortions. It is just sometimes better than the alternatives that these women face. I think it trivializes the whole process to assume that it is usually done without thought or forethought.

the birth is relatively "easy to define".
Clarity is desirable in this case. Rather that try to make abortion legal beyond birth, most progressives look for ways to make the choice earlier. I support counseling, and testing at the earliest possible times. As far as abortions for mistakes or carelessness, I support such drugs as RU487 and I think abortion should be left primarily for the more serious issues of birth defects and coersion.
