I have highlighted the word in the definition of "slave" that I find most bothersome. To reduce another human being, even a criminal, to the status of "property" is a heinous crime in itself. This is my opinion, if you disagree with it, then are values are far enough apart that I would agree that we are truly at an impasse. dictionary.com slave (slv) n. One bound in servitude as the property of a person or household. One who is abjectly subservient to a specified person or influence: “I was still the slave of education and prejudice” (Edward Gibbon). One who works extremely hard. A machine or component controlled by another machine or component.
