It was long thought that education would eliminate drug abuse, unwanted pregnancies and VD. We know the causes of these things. The people most educated about them are often those that find themselves personally involved in the problems.

That implies that the cause is lack of education. As you point out, there is nothing to support that lack of education is the cause. It may be a contributing factor, but I would never consider it a cause.

I am a strong believer in the importance of justice.
