I think the case against Egypt is that Mubarek is trying to build a dynasty for his son to take over. And this kind of Dynasty building has gone out of style. Added to this is poor state of the Egyptian economy. (a result of Mubarek's lack of leadership).

I would think that Israel walks away from the West Bank, (with some international guarding of Holy Places)gets rid of Arafat and takes their chances with whatever political leadership shows up. It can't be worse than Arafat.

Israel can't appoint a Palestinean leader because he would just be viewed a "an Israeli flunky".

How Jordan plays its hand I don't know.
