Regarding your inquiry about any problems with jaz or zip disks, I will say that both my boyfriend and I have zip drives. One household, we need two zip drives because one of us is always on the computer, using the zip, and the other often has to throw that zip in the back seat and go somewhere and work or output something. Thus the drives and disks travel constantly. Me, I'm rather anal about mine, never had any problems. He is a bit rougher shall we say, although I should mention he uses his what seems like 18 hours a day. He has about 40 zip disks now (I have about 8) and is thinking about upgrading to the jaz. Twice his drive has failed and both times IOMG has acted quickly and courteously, fedexing him an either repaired or replaced drive immediately. Mind you his usage is nowhere near average.

Regarding disks, each time his drive has failed, a disk has been fouled in the process. Unfortunately the first time data was unrecoverable, although IOMG tried and fedexed him a replacement disk. The second time they also fedexed the disk, and the data had been recovered. All of their efforts and quick customer service impress me far more than the fact that he has had equipment failure. When I use 3.5 inch floppies, they fail at an abominable rate, often the first time I use them.

My advice is stick with iomg but don't ever keep only one copy of anything. Especially now that zip disks are coming down in price, keep BACKUPS!!!!

I am an avid iomg fan and a onetime investor/profiter and am currently considering getting back in if money opens up.

Is anyone out there teetering over whether to buy now at what seems a low price or are the wise throngs waiting to see the reaction to earnings announcement?
