Welcome to the Z, Joe .... as to the one min tick bursts of around 300 being more frequent, the market is, to me at any rate, more volatile lately .... I find nothing suspicious concerning the possible manipulation of the futures but rather the MUCH increased usage of market basket purchases by more buyers. Computers being more prolific than in the past mean more "instant" response .. or at least that is how I observe the current more swift and larger tick moves .... I also see the same thing happening in the NYSE tick. and, that helio WAS NOT black ... it was kinda a reaaaaallllly dark green color ....
