MONTREAL, QUEBEC--DECEMBER 5, 2001 - 09:42 EST COGNICASE Inc. (Nasdaq: "COGI"), a provider of advanced transaction processing solutions and Internet-based applications, has begun work on a contract to rebuild computer network services for the New York City Law Department agency. COGNICASE was awarded this contract following damage the agency suffered during the September 11 World Trade Center (WTC) attacks. The contract is valued at over US$1 million.
Under the terms of the agreement, COGNICASE will provide consulting services to redesign, install and operate the Law Department's information systems infrastructure and respective data security at several different Law Department locations throughout the city. The agency is already experiencing real benefit from the work begun by COGNICASE.
"In the wake of the events of September 11, we were very pleased to collaborate with MIS groups at several leading New York City agencies in their efforts to re-establish mission-critical operations," said COGNICASE Chairman of the Board, President and CEO Ronald Brisebois.
"COGNICASE's immediate offer of assistance and support following September 11 enabled us to plan and implement a Local Area Network (LAN) at our new location. We have been very impressed with the knowledge, skill and professionalism of COGNICASE's staff and we look forward to continuing our working relationship in the future," stated NYC Law Department MIS Division Director, Mr. Vincent R.
