Todays News not getting any better.

07:35 ET Ford Motor (F) 17.74: As anticipated, Ford reducing its outlook for Q4. Co now expects a loss of $0.50 a share for the period vs consensus of -$0.14. Blames shortfall on increased credit loss reserves reflecting weakened U.S. economic conditions and high marketing costs

Ford going to record huge loss while cars and trucks are selling at record levels. Confirms that the tactic to buy buyers does not work. They are in a bind though, if the others are doing it, Ford cannot stop either , or it risks losing market share. Hard to break a cocaine addiction, (0%)

17:50 ET US Airways (U) 7.25 +0.01: Reports that revenue passenger miles for November 2001 were down 24.6% compared to November 2000, while available seat miles for the month decreased 16.3%; passenger load factor for the month was 63.7%, a decrease of 7.1 percentage points compared to November 2000

17:59 ET UAL Corp (UAL) 16.43 +0.13: Reports that revenue passenger miles declined 23.5% in November vs the comparable month in 2000; passenger load factor fell to 68.5% from 71.0 % a year ago; seat capacity was down 20.7%.

This is another thing that needs to show improvement soon, its the lifeblood of the economy. There was a report last night from florida, that showed many of Disney worlds trolleys sitting idle in the parking lot. Low passeger load factors affects all business
