Thanks GDA now, I really don't have much knowledge about the issue of Martyr. I know the clear cut case of it. And that is if an Islamic country is attacked with the purpose of occupying it, or to force Muslims out of their homes or to force Muslims to change their religion and one fights and gets killed, then he / she is a Martyr. the situation of Jews in Israel and Palestinians is different... so, I really don't know what to think GDA, but I will have to educate myself on the opposing arguments. as for the Hadith you reference, I don't know it... but you have to make a distinction between Martyr and committing suicide... a Martyr does not go to Hell, a person who commits suicide while in full control of his / her mental abilities, does. regards amein
