I haven't heard if Avalon maintained their short or not. One clue may be that the AVIR volume they reported as a market maker was way down in September/October compared with August. If in fact they covered their short, they likely did so back in August.

I'm not that pleased about the merger - I would have preferred to take my chances with the company on its own. OTOH, this certainly does reduce risk, and I'm not at all averse to holding MEDI instead.
