well, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement in my book. but even if you are not a buyer, if you have personally significant holdings, then the current value should matter because you will presumably, in the future:

* sell the stock, in which case you would want the price to be high
* give it to somebody else, in which case you would want to give something of value
* receive dividends, in which case you would want to receive a substantial amount of money relative to the current share price

I've been an owner since 1991 when I answered those questions you are now asking

the answers can change over time.
