Bad thinking.

The letters also infected postal workers and 94 year-olds. The addressee may be irrelevant because the contagion can (and did) cause random disease. If the sender knew this was possible, your theories go out the window. Or perhaps you'll also argue that he hates postal workers and old ladies in addition to liberals.

Far be it frome me to dissuade the metaphyically certain, however.
