Well, it's like my father always told me. Material goods are only worth what people are willing to pay for them.

In my case, I can afford to spend $3,000 on a Segway because it's "fun". Hell, I spent a lot more than that on my boat because it's "fun". However, if I lived in a big city, I would definitely view it as more practical than a car (and cheaper).
