But in any event, the numbers I remember are a total of close to a million Arab Jewish refugees (including from places like Iran, Pakistan and yes, Afghanistan (there were still two Jews in Afghanistan as of about a year ago<g>)). Thus if one wants to play the "repatriation" game, lets play it on all sides. How about 2 MM Sikhs kicked out of fertile lands in Pakistan to India, or millions of Greek kicked out of Turkey, and so on. The last century has created 100 MM refugees in the world, but only the Palestinians refugees were used by the Arab governments as political pawns
Hi Zeev Hed.
Well, I suppose it would make it more challenging if we tried to sort all the worlds repatriation problems, but we simpletons on this thread think we should just stick to the Arab & Israeli conflict (for now <ggg>)
The facts just presented speak strongly indeed for Israel. One wonders why the Arab Nations mentioned have not been bought to task by the major powers over this point. I could make some guesses of course -g-
I suspect a suitable solution for the Palestinians could be found, but the cycle of hatred fed by it's leaders and educational systems, make Israel weary of a solution where it's armed forces withdraw.
What do you think of this news item btw?

I suppose Jordan is suggesting putting peace enforcing troops in the orange colored areas in this map?

i.e. areas A & B or....... C too?
Somehow, the Palestinians have to be educated to stop the current path they are on. It's suicidal in more ways then one imho. It will take time no doubt. It's current leadership sound hopeless to me.
The Arab Nations could try and extinguish Israel altogether, but I don't recommend that path either. It would not make the world a safe place to live at all..for anyone. |
