The Palestinians think Israel did just that! The Palestinians lived in the West Bank, under Arab control up until the 1967 Six Day War. In defending herself against the armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, Israel not only defended herself, but took control of the West Bank, where the Palestinians lived, in victory over their enemies.
Now Israel set up a military administration over the area, instead of annexing it! They let the Palestinians live there, even though it was Israels. In more recent years, Israel started building on the land and occupying some of it, and thus the reason for more terrorism.
So you see, the Israeli situation does apply, because the Palestinians feel Israel is forcing them out of their homes by occupying some of the land lived in by Palestinians, but is truly Israeli land ....
