DukeCrow,
Don't blame yourself for my radical interpretation! It's the true meanings that I see in them, after a lot of study.
I have studied these verses many times before, with others. No one has come up with convincing proof of innocent meanings to them. I mean I can definitely understand where you are coming from when you say their self defense verses. I'll go along with that! However, I think the radicals are justified in invoking them due to the current political landscape, in a self defensive manner!
You, or any Muslim, has convinced me away from that! They have every right to invoke them, in my opinion. And I think I have justified that many, many times on the threads. I will do so again, if you want me too. Not one person has come up with any reasonable explanation to dispute my reasoning on why the radicals can invoke them, in self defense!
I am not looking at the verses in isolation either, as you said. I am going out of my way to study everything to find out their true meanings, short of learning Arabic!
Your example of what I am doing is a little insulting, to be honest with you. I am truly showing you why I feel the radicals can invoke the self defense clauses, after doing a lot of research and spending a lot of time on it, and you compare that to a misinterpretation by removing a word in a passage. That seems like a really bad example!
Hey, you've tried your hardest to explain why you think the radicals have a warped sense of Islam. And I admire you for that, the defense of your religion! However, I feel you addressed the defensive position of the verses, but never really satisfactorily claimed why the radicals were wrong in invoking them in self defense...
I would welcome you to try to do so again, if I missed it! But if you wish not to, that is your decision!
God Bless, IGIT |
