<< Your example of what I am doing is a little insulting, to be honest with you. I am truly showing you why I feel the radicals can invoke the self defense clauses, after doing a lot of research and spending a lot of time on it, and you compare that to a misinterpretation by removing a word in a passage. That seems like a really bad example! >>

I'm sorry if it seemed insulting. I don't think it's a bad example -- perhaps a simple example, though. Just like one can't simply take one word out of a sentence to try and figure out its meaning, one can't take one verse out of the Quran to try and figure out its meaning.

<< However, I feel you addressed the defensive position of the verses, but never really satisfactorily claimed why the radicals were wrong in invoking them in self defense... >>

You might have missed this, but I believe I've stated it a couple times. Whether or not the radicals are right about claiming self-defense (and defense of Islam), they lose all credibility when they choose to defend themselves in a way which deliberately targets innocent civilians and non-combatants. That is prohibited in Islam.
