The real value in the Segway is the gyroscopes/dual circuit board/motor for each wheel system which keeps the load balanced and allows instantaneous response. That is something that can be used in some way or another on all forms of transport - cars, buses, trailers, tractors, airplanes (to prevent stalls), offroad vehicles, boats, robots (remember the one wheeled R2D2?), mars rover, military vehicles - there are endless possibilities. For example, Imagine a two wheeled car that can go across almost any terrain. Just think how this system could be combined with other technology on the horizon such as fuel cells, GPS, wireless, and on-and-on. Maybe the Segway by itself is not earth shattering, but there is much possibilities. It would be great to work in the R&D dept. at Segway just thinking up all the possible applications.
