If Bush the First had completed what he started. he would have toppled Saddam when he bombed Iraq in the first place. Was it 1990? Why didn't Bush and Powell go after Saddam then? I have heard many colimnists say that because Bush and Powell walked away, the younger generation at that time, such as Osama bin Laden, believed that the US was weak and could not defend itself. These young militants believed that the US had grown soft. Why not ask Bush the First and Colin Powell why they refused to pursue Saddam?
