res- You, I, and the Congress have no idea what people would decide to do with tax breaks.

The assumption being that we *should know* what everyone is doing with their tax break money. It's their money! They can do with it anything they wish.

Stuff it under your mattress or buy a few kegs of beer and throw a party. I could care less. Modern liberal Democrats seem to consistently want to snoop into every tax-payers private life and moralize about how they are spending their money.

Why are liberal Democrats constantly trying to force their morality on everyone else?

Do you think you can model a 10 Trillion dollar economy and determine where best to *spend* our money or something?

When Democrats got their way and passed the luxury tax years ago, the boat industry was nearly destroyed. Wealthy people who eventually had the tax rescinded didn't particularly *suffer*. It was the hard working boat builders, engineers, salesman and waitresses who served them coffee at the docks who suffered.

Tax breaks stimulate the economy. The economy needs stimulating now. Bush was smart to see the tide of economic indicators during the election season and push for a tax cut. It was an intelligent move then, and it's an intelligent move now. Due to his foresight, this recession may be shorter then many believed a short while ago. We'll just have to see....

How much would you like to see taxes raised Tiger? Would you like to go back to pre-Reagan tax rates of 72%?
