I was talking about aggression and dominance. Attributes associated with innate habits. The attribute that brings them close to a radical is their ability to kill by running down their prey until it becomes exhausted - usually choosing lame or young antelope and zebra. The radicals attack the weakest link too the civilians and the purpose is pulling apart of the structure that connects us, breaking our confidence. Hyena victim is pulled apart and devoured - a messy but often quicker death than the slow strangulation employed by lion and leopard. Though I agree that the social structure of a hyena clan is different from that of most other land mammals and females lead the hyena clans which is not the case of radicals however they also have genitalia which mimics that of males, only larger. So in a way the female and male functions are not like any other land mammal too.

Interestingly Lions and Spotted Hyena are often engaged in a power struggle, with male lion sometimes going out of their way to attack and kill clan matriarchs and the hyenas being major predators of lion cubs. Due to its ghostly whooping call and secretive nocturnal ways, the hyena is regarded as a witch or evil spirit in many African societies. Hyena are “polygynous”, meaning that females may have several male mates. Females share dens but they do not share the responsibility of raising young. In lot of ways I see that aggression and domination a very explosive mix.

I did notice ‘matriarchal or clan leader structure’ undermines my argument while I was posting and therefore notice the next sentence where I repeat and took out the word ‘female.’ I did think let me see if someone picks up, I was very impressed that you did pick that up and asked me.
