Anyone who believes there is no energy crisis, that we don't need a serious re-examination of energy policy and that we are not way too dependent on foreign oil is not playing with a full deck......

I generally respected what I've read from the CATO institute; they said that the situation early this year was a temporary aberration. The VP at BP Amoco said there was no energy crisis. Both appear to be correct on all counts.

This temporary easing of the supply situation only masks the symptoms...

The Administration [Cheney] was quite clear early this year that there would be no easing; brownouts would continue in CA, expand to the North East and energy prices would remain high. Cheney was wrong on every count.
