Your model of the world as a spice cake with evil raisins evenly distributed though out the batter is PC drivel as a cursory glance of history proves. (BTW, I’m amazed you would use such a theologically loaded word as evil).

I think a more apt metaphor is that evil is like a search light (if you can imagine a beacon that subtracts instead of adding light). It restlessly moves around the world unlighting up various regions and peoples and then moves on. In the 30’s evil was concentrated in Germany and Japan. You can’t tell me the ratio of evil to good in Berlin 1937 was the same as in Iowa City that year. Or that evil wasn’t more concentrated among Hutus in southern Africa when they went on their genocidal rampage than it was among the Germans in the 90’.

The last few years the evil glare has been shining on Afghanistan and growing hotter. I hope for the sake of the Afghan children that it move on but feel dread for those it moves onto next.
