9:35 (Dow Jones) Despite uncertainty surrounding the merger of Hewlett-Packard (HWP) and Compaq (CPQ), SG Cowen analyst Richard Chu says Compaq is tracking to meet or even "modestly exceed" its revenue and earnings expectations for the fourth quarter, which Chu called conservative. When Compaq reported third quarter results, it targeted revenue between $7.6 billion and $7.8 billion and a loss of three cents a share. Chu, who maintained his buy rating on shares of Compaq, says the company is maintaining "strong strategic momentum" in its industry standard server and storage businesses. (DLF)
