AT&T BROADBAND INTERNET Groan! The phone sex tech (as my brother calls it) kept me on hold for an hour then talked me thru another hour of stuff that STILL did not bring my AT&T Broadband Internet up as a replacement for AT&T@Home. Well, they then said a tech would call in 3-5 days to schedule a visit...who knows when? So, I got in my car and DROVE to the depot where the local techs check into. I walked right in behing a guy who opened the security door with his passcard. Once inside, I was very polite and to my absolute surprise, they decided to send their senior tech home behind me, right there and then.

The bad news is that he brought over yet another guy and for 4 hours they worked. After a few cell phone calls to other techs doing the same thing all over Pittsburgh, they realized that they have a common, unfixable problem...the system does not work on Windows 98 setups that were changed over to the phone line after Excite went down.

So at this point I can either get a new XP computer (and give up my WORDPERFECT 6.0 for DOS which won't run on XP, I am told) or wait for them nationally to recognize the problem and develop a fix. This is bumming me out! Any of you hear of similar problems?
