Arun, Buddha didn't renounce his alpha-male status. He still has it. He went around the place propounding his beliefs. An alpha male doesn't need to use violence to achieve status. He simply ditched the temporal burdens so he could focus on what really mattered. He's Numero Uno around these parts for a lot of people. I've been to the local temple and there were a lot of people there. High alpha male status! Mq
