Joe, I'll take Intel's word over that of a bitter screwdriver jockey and a disgruntled ex-Intel employee. As far as I know, most of the P4 runs at full speed. Trace cache is the only unit that runs at half speed, but it makes up for it by providing six uops every other (main) clock. Like I asked said screwdriver man, why hasn't this conspiracy theory du jour left the confines of SI? Tenchusatsu
