chuckj:

One can not just mock something as being backward (or otherwise) till all evidence is in. The link you provided does refer to the book of Hadith, but based on my understanding we have to make sure the Hadith that is being referred to is valid and original, and not something that has been made up by the enemies of Islam or those who have other motivations that are anti-Islamic.

That is why before getting into Hadith I want to make sure we have a clear understanding that we are examining the "correct" version of Hadith. To the best of my knowledge the one provided by The Muslim Students Association at USC usc.edu is something that (according to the site) has been validated by many reputable Muslim scholars and students. However I am not sure, and that is why I have asked DuckeCrow who is kindly providing his time and effort in helping us Understand Islam better to let the thread know about its validity.

As for Quran, I think it has been established that the only valid translation is one that is provided by Muhammad Asad's translation of the Qur'an which we can refer to via the links provided at Islamic Affairs Department of The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia iad.org .

Before referring to Jinnis please make sure they are also noted in that one valid Quran transled by Muhammad Asad (again you can look for it at iad.org ).
