Well, the reason for the Afghan campaign is that the U.S. viewed the civilian casualties on 9/11 as "unacceptably high".

Interesting how the clip never pins down how "high" things are. When pressed the guess was put at "hundreds". However, consider that these same groups were claiming that even before the campaign began that millions were at risk of starvation this Winter. With the Taliban out the Afghan refugee crisis that was inflicted on these people by an oppressive regime will be significantly mitigated.
