Tenchusatsu, I'll take Intel's word over that of a bitter screwdriver jockey. Just because some people on this thread operate on the juvenile level with their name calling etc., it doesn't mean you have to join them. As far as I know, most of the P4 runs at full speed. Trace cache is the only unit that runs at half speed Why in the world would L2 run at the full speed, and Trace cache at <EDIT>half speed? Trace cache is performance critical, smaller, used all the time, L2 is less performance critical, large die area, and is used only on L1 / Trace cache misses? It doesn't pass the common sense test. The only that may operate at the marketing frequency is L1 data cache. Joe
