chuckj: I have verified the verses you have pointed out refrencing Jinns in the version of Quran that is translated by Mr. Muhammad Asad. Please see Islamic Affairs Department of The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia iad.org , and please use that to verify all the verses you have pointed out having to do with Jinns. As it stands and for the purpose of Understanding Islam this thread will only accept the translation that is offered by Mr. Asad and has also been accepted by Saudi Arabia (which does go to the extreme to make sure Islam's message in English is identical to one that is presented in Arabic). I personally would only accept the translation of Quran that is offered by Mr. Asad and which has been adopted by the Saudi government. As for the Book of Hadith, also please make sure that what you have provided do comply with the Book of Hadith that is provided by The Muslim Students Association at USC which has been accepted by many repuatable Muslimc scholars and students. They have a very powerful search engine that makes it possible for you to look for certain words and it will bring up the verses that contain those words.
