Why do you think they just did the biggest corporate bond offering ever at what I consider a highly unattractive rate? They were facing having their commercial paper downgraded.

Needless to say there are plenty of buyers in the wings for the assets, what remains to be seen is if the name AT&T survives in any form what-so-ever after the broadband properties, the long distance and the business unit is sold off in pieces. T. Micheal Armstrong will go down in history as having killed T single handedly.
