The embedded processors were EOL but I believe the product (AM486?) was still going to be available for another year or two plus AMD still has other embedded processors which provide a possible substitution (the K6-2 and K6-3 based ones). The announcement was an advance warning to allow for the customers to plan ahead for products with a long life cycle. I don't think this was a significant source of revenue or it would not have been killed. I searched AMD's web site and this thread but could't find the reference on the embedded processor.

I still don't understand AMD's updated revenue statements but perhaps some sleep will help. To be honest, while the statements could be interpreted very positively (>10% overall) I am more concerned that something is amiss - maybe just defensive after watching my investment portfolio recover.
