It also seems to me, but what do I know that both rallies were essentially liquidity based with the Fed cuts stimulating rising pe's. Both of the rallies were thought to be ahead of themselves. But the 98 crash was shorter in duration as I remember, and there was no overhang of capacity in the economy to slow the rate of business investors, and we had Y2k to surge spending, of course this time around we do have a war to surge spending. Maybe a mini bubble on its way?
