LBI, shudder, I was with a friend heading down Barnegat Bay, last August, to LBI using his brother's boat. On the way back, the tide was out and he managed to successfully sandbar the boat so solidly I could not push us off.
By the time they towed us off it was dark, and he decided to go up to his brother's dock in Chadwick without lights.
20 odd foot boat, he managed to put that sucker 30 feet onto the beach below the Toms River Bridge somewhere. So, we got back to his house around 3 AM. When he called his brother (who did not know I was down there) the next day, the first words out of his brother's mouth were "Slevin was with you, wasn't he?"
It worked out okay though. A couple of weeks later his brother did the same damn thing so we were both off the hook. |
