I'm not so sure. The market had priced in Intel crushing AMD, and cut AMD's share price to less than half that of Intel's, and AMD's market cap to less than 3% of Intel's market cap.

Now that it's become clear that AMD is continuing to gain in the CPU market, the two stock prices should move back to near equality fairly quickly.

This may result in both moving to the $15 to $20 range as it becomes clear that this price war will continue to go on indefinitely, but, IMHO, it is more likely that both will move to $30 to $40 as the economy improves.

Either way, dumping AMD at $17 right now isn't a slam-dunk decision.
