Several factors, some unconfirmed:

1. John Chambers of CSCO mentioned VoIP prominently in his update a couple days ago. Rumor thus started that SONS might be a potential take-over target.

2. Rumor has it that SONS received - or will receive - a huge contract from Sprint.

3. SONS was (and still is) grossly underpriced in comparison with some other communication stocks.
