ENE to have a fire sale? If things are accelerating, will we make it 1 year before another event of the scale of ENE takes place?

Think of it- Bush pushing for a 100B pork laden barrel of stimulus- while the damage done by ENE alone exceeds that amount.

We have both HK and Argentina with currency tied to the US dollar. I expect both offer lessons and insights into the US future.

Per Jay- HK suffers from deflation, at least in some sectors. I think that is what has become of Argentina too- debt service is more problematic as the relative strength of the US dollar saps economic strength.

If Argentina relents, breaks the peg and inflates the pain of the debt burden away, while HK retains the link- we might have two opposed case studies that might approximate what the US may face in the future.
