Bin Laden Spotted Near Tora Bora Fighting

Friday Dec. 7, 2001; 2:33 p.m. EST

Osama bin Laden was spotted near Afghanistan's Tora Bora cave complex on Thursday, a reporter for London's Independent told ABC Radio Network News today.

"One of the senior comanders (of the Northern Alliance) told us that a group of his men have seen Osama bin Laden yesterday riding a horse with four bodyguards at a point quite close to but behind the front lines (after) having visited his men there.

"He was quite adamant that this is what his men had seen," the Independent reporter added.

Bin Laden had been spotted last Friday near Tora Bora but was believed to have moved to a different cave complex in the Spin Ghar mountains, the New York Post reported in today's editions.
