Jim, Not dead, endangered by their largeness and lack of ability to maneuver. These large stores cannot get enough of a discount to justify the extra size and management overhead. Here they survive by asking you to buy their extended warranty. The sales staff has to ask you 4 times before they let you out the door with your purchase. the sales man get 25% of the ext warranty $$, that is why they fight so hard to make the sale. the store gets the rest. That extra 10% makes a big diff to their bottom line, a crucial diif. Does Compusa play that game in your area? Bill
