Old Milwaukee, 99 cents a six pack in Lawrence KS in 1981! (Grocery store beer--3.2, not like 5.0 liquor store beer--you have to understand, we had prohibition until about 1949, and even today you can't buy "strong" beer or wine at a grocery store!) We got $4 for supper when I went on trips with the debate team, so if you skipped supper, you could get drink one he*l of a lot of brew...
