what a bunch of paper tigers the Russians are. What were they doing over there for 10 years? It hasn't taken us 10 weeks

An unnecessary bit of belated witch-hunting, tossing in that bit against a current ally. Besides, the Russians had a superpower arming the opposition, a crumbling economy, they lacked the broad alliance of international support from intelligence agencies, Afghanistan was united in opposition to Russia (not splintered under Taliban rule), they lacked our thermal imaging capabilities and they did not have a NA to do the dirty frontline work.

As well, their soldiers were tossed into a war of dubious value, like our Vietnam. They were not motivated by an attack that left thousands of innocents dead.

Plus, they were Commies and had to use scratchy toilet paper, which can interfere with your focus & resolve.
